Rural Placement - an amazing opportunity.
Going from Byron Bay to Cunnamulla would certainly be a change of scenery and third year USQ nursing student Alexander Rankin revelled in the opportunity to take a placement in the South West.
Alexander, who lives at Byron Bay and works as an Enrolled Nurse, took up distance education with USQ to gain his registered nurse qualifications and specifically asked for a rural and remote clinical placement.
Working at Cunnamulla Hospital, Alexander thoroughly enjoyed his four weeks fine tuning his skills, gaining experience in a rural setting and learning about the South West. He felt the rural placement was invaluable for intensive learning that he could take into the rest of his nursing career.
The SQRH Charleville office team supported Alexander, ensuring his placement offered diverse experiences as well as taking the opportunity to see the tourist icons of the region including the Cunnamulla Fella statue and the Cunnamulla Visitor Centre.
