Rural Health Bursaries
For Nursing, Midwifery & Allied Health Students
SQRH has been established to increase rural health training opportunities for nursing, midwifery and allied health students and health professionals in regional, rural and remote communities.
SQRH supports rural health professionals and students to engage in high quality rural health research.
SQRH provide a number of learning opportunities for health professionals and students to improve their interprofessional practice skills.

Considering 'going rural' for your clinical placement?
From 2023, bursary information is as follows:
Students will receive $100 per placement week (capped at $2000 for extended placements).
What's the eligibility criteria?
You better get in quick, as numbers are strictly limited.
All bursary applications can be made via the StarRez Portal. If you have any questions about applying, please contact the Student Support Co-ordinators via sqrhstudentsupport@uq.edu.au.
If you are ineligible for our bursary, several scholarships and bursary opportunities may be available from partnering organisations. Please see the organisations below for more information.
